I've succeeded in "deprogramming" one person from Trumpism. It took approximately 2 years @ 4 or 5 hours a day. Many days it was exhausting and demoralizing. They still "backslide" with the latest conspiracy theory about every 6 months.
I would never try to do it again.

I could sleep sitting bolt upright in a hard plastic chair in the airport waiting room, screaming kids and loud angry bedlam over the PA system swirling around. I took red eye flights stretched out on the floor of the plane, with people stepping on my face, never waking up.
