Ah backyard archaeology. I have a mysterious and very large chunk of concrete the size of a 44 gallon drum buried in an inconvenient part of my garden and it's too big to excavate.
Might be an old well... Might be something else... Nothing on the aerial photos from the 1970s.

Exact ID is actually pretty hard. There are at least 3 species -all were thought to be subspecies - may now be the same species again, or there could be 7 now in that area. Our local botanists started reclassifying this group 10-15 yrs ago - so it depends which side of the hway and who you know.

Blue orchids are a struggle for me to get the colour balance, but this is T.crinita for comparison (Both flower together in that area) - This one was Oct 2020, Carmel Valley - Perth Hills.

Without knowing the exact location, the soil type and when it was photographed this is most likely T.macrophylla or one of the dozen or so very closely related members of the Scented Sun Orchid clave.
Key features are the pointed petals and sepals, and the tufts on the column below the anther.
