As soon as I figure out how to find people on this app, it’s over for you bitches.

All round loser. She/Her.
47) Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas

Read this at the wrong time, as it took me an AGE. As with most SJM, lots of build up, then shit kicks off in the last 150pgs. In comparison to AB, loved the newly introduced characters, felt they added to the story, but need to take a big breather from this

46) I’m Gonna Get You Back by Elena Armas

Listened to this in a day (only 5.5 hours!), as I needed a major break from the next read, but this was so good?! I haven’t read any EA in ages, so was such a fun way to dip back into her writing. So brilliantly casted and narrated!!

45) Nightshade by Autumn Woods

Long time no update, but it has been dry as hell since finishing this 🙃 I LOVED this, and managed to read it at the perfect time of year, right in the lead up to Halloween!! The characters are so well balanced, and feel so real, I’m dying for the sequel!

44) The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J Maas

I actually had a big struggle with this! I found the first two stories a bit of a struggle and just wasn’t excited to pick it up? Got back on board and really enjoyed the last two, but so ready to get back to main storyline!

43) Wild Card by Elsie Silver

The end of the Rose Hill series!! I loved these idiots, without a doubt the best meeting of the series. I prefer Bash’s brand of grumpy to Rhys, especially because of the glimpses of his warmth we get as they come through. SO excited for the tv show to be made!

42) Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas

Really enjoyed this, got to see great development in the characters, and the progression of their relationships and dynamics. I’m reading in publishing order before anybody asks, so won’t be getting straight back into the story timeline next!

41) Spirit Level by Richy Craven

Another library gem! This was SO GOOD, such a surprise, a great depiction of grief, obviously the alcohol element is central to the storyline, but it was a bit tender for me at times! Get this on your audiobook tbr if you haven’t already!!

40) Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

Promised myself I would start this series before summer was over, so it’s fitting that this was my goal read at the same time! (All books borrowed from friends or library). As with most fantasy books, took me a minute to get in, but I enjoyed!

39) Fight by Sloane St. James

Long time, no update!! Picking back up from mid August, this was fun! Callahan is hot, an interesting miscommunication trope, and the jeopardy feels pretty real at times! Haven’t had time to complete the rest of the series yet, but looking forward to it!

38) The First Move by Jenny Ireland

God bless the library, because I don’t know when I would’ve gotten around to this wee gem if it wasn’t available. LOVE the Nordie representation, the narrators are perfect, and immerse you so brilliantly into the story. Gorgeous story, I ate this up.

37) Whispers of the Deep by Emma Hamm

I would like to preface this saying my best friend has been BEGGING us to get on this train, so once I got it on Sp*tify I had to investigate. Is it going to rank high in my list for the year? No. Did I enjoy it? Maybe.
Will I read the others? Yes.

36) Bourbon & Proof by Victoria Wilder

I’m so sad to be leaving the world of Fiasco behind, but what a way to wrap things up. Would’ve loved for the conflict to have been wrapped up a little bit earlier, just dragged a little too long to be resolved so quickly. But those Foxx boys. MA’AM 👀

35) Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

This is VERY out of left field for me, but my god was it well worth it. I can’t imagine doing it any other way than audio, you feel every twist and turn, and if I hadn’t finished it on the train yesterday, I would’ve been in a heap.

34) Bourbon & Secrets by Victoria Wilder

Very belated update because life has been a bit mental, but I’m obsessed with these. Tonally, they just hit such a sweet spot between the romance and the tension in the wider storyline for me. I’m very excited to read book 3 after all the build!

33) Bourbon & Lies by Victoria Wilder

My pace has MAJORLY slowed since the death of my kindle (RIP Queen, she survived a solid 10+ years), and reading on the app is killing me, and I was also on holidays and had barely any time to immerse and truly enjoy this, but I love this world already!

32) Caught Up by Navessa Allen

Very happy to come back to this world (when my Spotify hours renewed 🙄). It’s funny to say that this is darker when you actually think about the plot of Lights Out, but it’s definitely more mature. A lot of the background tension felt too easily moved on from.

31) Wolf.e by Paisley Hope

This didn’t do it for me. I won’t lie, I’d seen so much hype and pushing of this book online, but I honestly wasn’t gripped by it at all? Leans more Haunting Adeline than Lights Out for other dark romance comparison. Won’t be going back to the second!

30) One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune

My GOD, was I happy to be back in Barry’s Bay 🥹 So happy to finally have Charlie’s story, it was beautiful, heartfelt, and these characters are so real and tangible, I could stay with them and Sam and Percy forever. Carley Fortune strikes again!!

29) Lights Out by Navessa Allen

This was a fucking RIOT. After Haunting Adeline, I wasn’t sure how dark I was willing to venture again, but I’m so glad my friends pushed me into this during our reading retreat! Audiobooks are not super conducive to yappy readers, but I ate this up!!

28) Live, Ranch, Love by Emma Lucy

This has been sitting in my kindle library for an embarrassingly long time, so read it to fill a gap, and it was fine! Won’t be racing to read book 2 when it comes out, because my tbr is as long as my arm, but did the job.

27) Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood

We knew this was coming. I was so excited for Maya & Hark, I knew Maya wasn’t going to give him an easy time. I adored that this was based at Rue and Eli’s wedding, & cameos from other Ali-verse characters! Only wish that Hark gave in earlier👀

26) Rewind it Back by Liz Tomforde

Behind on posting, but we’re back! I actually can’t believe that I only really got into the Windy City series earlier this year, and now it’s over? So happy to see Rio get his happy ending, all their flashbacks were so perfectly placed and intentioned 🥹

25) Bouquets & Buckles by Elliott Rose

I know I read it out of order, but this is a fun novella!! Not so much a story as just a spicy subplot for some background characters, but good to tide me over until my next read!

24) Taming the Heart by Elliott Rose

This was FUN. Loved the main characters, the storyline was so fun, obvs content warning for a cheating trope, comes with the Elliott Rose territory but to each their own, so go in eyes wide open.

23) Braving the Storm by Elliott Rose

Not even going to pretend, I’m having a great time back in my little cowboy world, and I want nothing said about it. Definitely more high stakes than book 1, but so many times I found myself squealing with the tension or anticipation as a result.
