My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.

#OTD in 1943, the US Court of Appeals ruled against Fred Korematsu and his case challenging the legality of Japanese incarceration. The court accepted that "military necessity" overrided personal liberties in a time of war. Still, the case will eventually reach the Supreme Court.

While Venezuela is not a fentanyl-or-cocaine producing country according to the UN, the president of the United States has touted an illegal land invasion of that nation while pardoning the former Honduran president who an American jury convicted of protecting the flow of cocaine to the US.
