One scenario where a public option for groceries could make sense is in food deserts. Encouraging the creation of a coop could help address the problem in the short to medium run, until there is enough growth to sustain competition.

Residential streets not designed for a vehicle of that size. They should be driving much slower than the speed limit and have spotters when blind spots could be an issue. The scenarios where there's no negligence or fault in the driver or company are limited.

On SGEC, the trail is much nicer than the parkway, but it is packed with people walking. I used the parkway to get my bread and beer at Almanac and Dominion City.

I could see some side streets with bike lanes overtaking car centric main streets. Assuming that zoning is not a hindrance.
