This was on the local news. A very sobering take on what happened, and a bit upsetting. The family was trying to reach the authorities about their son and couldn't reach anyone. The police said to call ICE, ICE was closed, and they finally got answers from the coroner.

This is an obvious sign for anyone who's lived with or cared for a senior. They may say they're fine but its a major red flag when you notice them using tables, chairs, walls, etc. as supplemental support when standing or walking. He's basically using that podium as if it were a walker or a crutch.

Over the holiday I had a house guest and ever since he connected to my wifi everything Google based has started suggesting beauty products, dog products, and ways to enhance my manly bits. Whelp, this wraps up Midnight's first week in his new home and I think he's settling in pretty well! He certainly eats and poops a lot, but more importantly he's finally starting to come out of hiding from behind the furniture!

Maybe if they understood the dead simple basics of civics it wouldn't be so frustrating? Taxes pay for essential services like schools, police, roads, ambulances, etc. In fact, its all itemized on our property tax statements. Don't want taxes? Go live on a dirt plot out in the middle of nowhere.

Whelp, about 5 days in and the little dude's gone from hiding behind the sofa when I'm in the living room to actually laying on top of it... And even approaching me when I'm at my desk working! My worries of "OMG I'm going to do something stupid and traumatize this poor guy for life!" are subsiding.

Hokay, so far so good! When I woke up this morning, he came in and started doing the figure 8 dance and head butting my hand when I reached down to pet him. Then he hopped up and snuggled against my leg in bed. Now he's actually up on the sofa and napping out in the open! ^_^
