Other MMOs may be far more accessible or popular. But only EVE can boast that their biggest PVP battles and instances of corporate thievery can make front page news on gaming sites all on their own; covered almost as though they were conflicts that happened for real.

Short answer: yes. Long answer likely has way too many spoilers. I had quite a lot of fun with it. :D

...then there's GoldenEye on the N64, Borderlands for looter-shooters, TF2 and Overwatch for hero shooters (would've said Dirty Bomb, but there's, like, one server left?)Then there's the modern "boomer shooter" revival with stuff like Ultrakill and WH40K Boltgun... the genre just keeps going. :D

1990s id Software (Wolfenstein/Doom/Quake) to see where it started. Alien Resurrection on the PS1 is where console FPS "twin stick" controls pretty much started, Halo: CE is when console shooters REALLY got big, Call of Duty's campaigns pretty much all nailed the "playable action movie" vibe...
