My pleasure! I shared it with Derek on LinkedIn when I released it but I am not sure if he really saw it 😅

I will also leave a link for @fransbouma.com UUU (this is for UE4 but he also made one for UE5) since I couldn't fit it in my previous post. Do make sure you are using it with release builds!

Fortunately, nowadays, at least when it comes to freecam tools, if you are using a third-party engine such as Unreal and Unity, there are generic tools to aid capture artists. For the former, you have UUU, and for the latter, there is my very own Cinematic Unity Explorer 🙂

Y como no podía ser de otra manera, efectivamente es open source 🥳

Si les interesa pispear el (muchas veces bastante asqueroso) código, subir bugs o hacer PRs pueden encontrar el repositorio abajo.

Oh crap, I forgot this video of yours! I wasn't sure I shared your opinion back then, but now I totally get you, especially after reading Chris Zukowski's latest blog post about how devs should chase these and other trends to survive. So you really were ahead of the curve with this one lol.

Now I am curious, given how you have taken into programming lately, are those projects you want to work on related to that 👀

It's super empowering, but it's certainly draining when it's also your full-time job lol

Man, your shots on this have been fabulous. How is the game? Didn't seem great when I first saw it.

It surprises me how we managed to make computers, arguably one of the most deterministic things humanity ever created, non-deterministic.

Von Neumann and Turing would be laughing their asses off at how freaking stupid we are.

I do the same on my site! I had friends who said it reads as a non-video-essay haha. But honestly, I have fun seeing where tangents get me.

For the Shadow of the Colossus story, we interviewed 14 people including project leads Fumito Ueda and Kenji Kaido, hired Gravity Rush concept artist Takeshi Oga to illustrate the cover, and put together a 10,000-word story with help from @milkman.bsky.social @shmuplations.bsky.social and others.

Echoing others, it's about the people you follow. Fortunately, there are a couple of people who left Twitter and only post here, so I was forced to come to keep seeing their stuff, and honestly, my bsky feed is much more fun than Twitter most of the time

I have this sad memory as a kid where my parents got me an NES clone around 2004 and it broke because of a lightning storm. So after that, I just sat with it and pretended I played

With how affordable minimum hardware is nowadays and access to the internet I couldn't be more envious of today's kids

Yeah I tagged the post with modding based on your post about this feed. Its probably my fuck up that I didn't mark the original post as English, maybe I should change a setting for that to be the default language.

I don't know if you changed something on the feed tho but I can see it now!

Took what modders made on BRC and put it into a new game, this is gonna be awesome.

Fortunately, the industry is in great shape, and people have super secure positions that justify moving away so far from where they currently are without fearing being laid off just mere months after doing so.

Funnily enough, it's a recurrent meme that software engineers end up doing woodwork or opening a bakery. My hypothesis is that they are so tired of things not working because of unknown reasons that being able to see the direct influence of your actions feels very cathartic.

The demo didn't work with any modloader, do they with the released version? Or you didn't try to use CUE?
August 27, 2025 at 9:24 PM
And they seem to be using Unity as a, wrapping engine? For the port, my Cinematic Unity Explorer mod works just fine on it! (or at least the old demo they released a couple of years ago)
