My first Etrian Odyssey game, and I think it was really successful in making you feel like a band of intrepid explorers, mapping dungeons that no one else has been able to before. Gameplay is pleasantly crunchy without being overbearing.

Not even the rain that fell while we watched this in the open air stopped me from enjoying this, and it felt like a true marvel. Josh O'Connor finds Etruscan tombs for a gang of grave-robbers in 1980s Italy. Beautifully shot, beautifully acted, beautifully written.

Not only my favourite kind of book (extremely gay and deeply funny), but fits so organically into my other interests (the Bloomsbury Group, queer history, invented history novels) that I can't believe I didn't read it sooner.
