This institute will federate the contributions of several governmental and public research organizations, including ANSSI, Inria, LNE, PEReN.
It will be steered by the General Secretariat for Defense and National Security (SGDSN) on behalf of the Prime Minister, and by the Directorate General for Enterprise (DGE) of the Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty.

While the full scope of its activities and prerogatives is not yet known, the institute’s main goal will be to scientifically study the effects of AI technologies, including in terms of security/safety.
