Sun's are beautiful but I wouldn't recommend them as The First Bird :)

I had 3 birds and the only time they screamed was when my ex-wife and I slept in and didn't check in, they were worried about us and the moment one of us popped our heads in they quieted down until we settled back into the routine.

As a bird owner I don't recommend birds. Love'em tho

Birds can be loud, but if they are consistently loud they are neglected and lonely/crying out. Take that in mind when somebody says that birds are loud.

They just wanna be included, and be part of a flock. If you spend time with them they are extremely quiet, but you gotta do it.

The level of time/effort for those two types is basically 3-5 hours daily. If that's too much size down.

I love birds, but they are a "i have to be consistent " to make sure they live the best.

They're absolutely adorable/loving and worth it imo but they also get heavily abused/neglected a lot.

I'd point towards some type of conure like Pineapple/Cinnamon (don't get Sun) or simply a Monk/Quaker parrot.

There's an influencer that buries their turtles and another who did a dance routine screaming about not burying your turtles and it's caused a shit storm of back and forth comments
