Between his lines of condolences regarding a brutal massacre? Sure, that’d cheer those grieving parents up.

Maybe they should stop being such a bummer, and just talk about ORANGE MAN like the rest of us.

Yes, that includes this side.
Yes, also the other one.
Yes, and also that one.

If you're so moral, go tell the hostages that "it's technically justified, because settler colonialism". Go tell victims of settler violence that "they deserve it because they live in area C". What are you waiting for?

People make mistakes and learn from them, and he's not exempt from that. This hostile reaction is immature, especially when a friendly email could go much further.

Shamelessly stolen from the internet - this is roughly what I’ve meant by equilibrium.
I won’t rush to dismiss your point - I do understand what you’re saying, and partially agree with it. I’m just struggling to make anything pragmatic of it.

Resources are surely not infinite, but the population is still not at equilibrium. Birth rates are continuously dropping.
It’s simply the most doomer issue there is, and there’s nothing to do about it except hope for more nations to secularise.

Just to make myself clear, it is a good idea to make transportation cheaper for those below a certain income bracket!
It would simply be an unsustainable solution for the general public.

Ideally, reducing the government subsidy for gas would free the funds needed for all the upkeep, upgrades and subsidies public transit can ever dream of.
But at this point upkeep is much more imminent than further subsidy.

Also, the only pragmatic way to lower birth rates is by increasing the marginal cost of having another child - and that would mean intentionally reducing quality of life for everyone.

The sounds of people chatting, children playing and the occasional tram crossing are lovely!
But I digress - overpopulation is simply the one parameter we can't control (at least without authoritarian measures), and is hardly an issue in the west.

I propose Provo, Utah

Fascinating stuff, especially when in fact every 3 Mexican immigrants *create* 1 American job.

Almost as if increasing the labour force creates demand for management… I guess we’ll never know.
