When lecturing I think it’s important to show a human side. It makes you relatable and you can build a solid foundation with your students making you approachable. Anyway, it’s #WorldDownSyndromeDay get your odd socks on and celebrate!

To mark #WorldDownSyndromeDay, I presented a genetic profile when I was a lecturer at the University of York teaching forensic chemistry. I asked the students “what does this genetic profile show”. Hoping for someone to just say “female” a bright student said “a female who has Down Syndrome” 1/3
