As we consult newspaper endorsements while filling out our ballots, keep in mind that in 1911 the founder of the Seattle Times called Washington's new workman's compensation law the "worst the legislature enacted" because it would "prevent new capital from entering the state."

Good question: I’m referring to the cost of administering SNAP as an extant program under HR 1, which (unlike the current government shutdown) doesn’t eliminate the program entirely.

Figure comes from estimate by Washington Office of Financial Management.

Today I'm calling on @governorferguson.bsky.social to declare a state of emergency: the expiration of SNAP benefits for nearly one million Washingtonians will be a disaster for the health of many, and for the economic health of the state. We must join other state governments and act swiftly.

The Trump Administration can only use the economic desperation of everyday Washingtonians as an ICE recruiting tool if we allow it to.

Let's talk about it at my "Tax The Rich" town hall on Saturday 10/11 3:30 PM @ Seattle First Baptist Church.

Major corporations spend buckets of cash to lobby the state legislature because they know many politicians will bend the knee to big business.

At my office's "Tax The Rich"-themed town hall on 10/11, we'll talk about how to beat them and win for working Washingtonians.

With mega corporations getting a huge tax break from the Trump Administration, it's time for Washington State to get serious about taxing the ultra-wealthy.

I’ll be hosting a town hall to talk about it with lefty voices and community leaders before the 2026 Washington State legislative session.

We have a chance to amplify the perspectives of Seattleites who - unlike some members of Seattle City Council - know a new King County mental health crisis center in Capitol Hill would be a great addition to a great neighborhood. Let's drink, laugh, and talk about it on July 7 @ 7PM at Vermillion.

Today Governor Ferguson signed my document recording fee bill into law. By closing a big bank loophole, HB 1858 will raise $60m annually for shelters, low income housing, and homebuyers’ assistance for Black and brown families.

Taxing the rich works and we should do more of it.

Now that Governor Ferguson is on record opposing a wealth tax, the stakes for HB 2045 are even higher.

Passing this corporate tax with no exemptions for billion dollar big businesses means fewer cuts to education, to healthcare, to the social safety net in Washington State.

No billion dollar mega-corporation deserves a tax break from Washington State at the expense of health and human services.

Sign in 'Pro' and tell your reps to pass House Bill 2045 without a corporate giveaway that everyday Washingtonians can't afford:
