WoW is an absolutely enormous universe and this would help new players be able to streamline they’re experience and let returning players relive they’re favorite expansions all over again. It’s truly everything that Azeroth has to offer in the way it was intended to be discovered and loved

One more thing. Seamless character transfer. This allows players to literally play through every expansion with the same character. If they get through it all (depending on where level cap is in retail at the time) they can have that character transferred to retail and continue beyond. Cinema

It also allows future expansions to not be so weighed done by the past. It won’t be retconned out of existence or anything, but it will allow for bigger swings and experimentation in the future. It opens a massive door for creativity and boundary pushing within the MMO space.

You can still have some of the content there. this is just narrowing the scope of the lore and the action. The classic expansions become, essentially, an interactive museum. A perfectly preserved, complete snapshot of the games history in each standalone expansion

How has the world been rebuilding since the Cataclysm? What about Teldrassil? There is an endless amount of things you can address with the retail world as it is now. Like why when I fly over Wintergrasp is it STILL horde v alliance killing eachother? Make it a PVP arena. (PVP arena tournament?)

3. Where Does Retail Fit In
The way I see it you have two options. You can either keep retail as it is and do nothing different. OR. You change the world based on where it is now and how much time has passed. The Lich King is dead, what’s happened to Ice Crown? Since? What about the Shadowlands?

Having a way for EVERYONE to be able to experience that challenge and the way the game grew over the years, would be so valuable for community building and for broader understanding between players of multiple generations

I feel like this would actually bring us together. Some old school players hate that retail has become an easier (to some) experience than what they experienced in classic and beyond. And that we’ve lost what made the game so great and rewarding to play in the first place

There are so many iconic moments and bosses that you can only see or interact with in raids and high level dungeons that some players have never even seen

Right now in retail we have follower dungeons (WW dungeons) and story mode final raid bosses (Dimensious and Gallywix) that help players actually play these big moments without them needing to try to find enough people to raid or if they don’t have time to sit in dungeon finder

I came back during BFA and while i LOVED that one I feel like I missed out on almost everything else. This would help returning players have that more organic experience who may not have been able to go through the game the way it was intended

These expansions are beautiful, well written, and stunning worlds that we fell in love with. However, some of us (me) never got to truly experience them as they were. I was going into 7th grade when Wrath came out and never got to play it outside of the death knight starting area

Hear me out. Each expansion up to Legion gets its own space and set of servers. It plays the content of that expansion and very little else’s. And when I say the content I mean ALLL of it. Not some truncated thing you level to the max for in a day and a half but a true slow experience. Warts and all
