Team Zutsuu, Tokyo, video game enthusiast. Forever the Dangan Ronpa guy.
I lost my AirPods at airport security. Took them out of my pocket and missed them in the bin when I retrieved my stuff. Noticed an hour later, 20 minutes before boarding.
…I have them back. Sometimes Japanese customer service is amazing, even at airports where you wouldn’t expect it.

Going on a 13 hour international flight in a couple of hours.
Not looking forward to it.

I know it's a 20 minute vertical video, but if you have even the vaguest interest in the subject matter, please watch this.

The amount of rain forecasted for this afternoon seems a little extreme.

WTF Facebook. I don’t even actively use you and you never send me any notifications, but this was important enough?

Finally hearing the constant cicada chorus.
They were super late this year. I was starting to worry.

Donkey Kong doesn't wait a second before letting you destroy the entirety of the opening area instead of going forward a few steps to the highlighted tutorial goal. Now that's good game design.

I'm not a Mario Kart player so I don't really have anything worthwhile to do with my new Switch 2 and won't for like a month or two.

But the New Gadget on Release Day rush is something that very much gets me, and it's not like I get too many other highs in my life.

RIP Peter David. Back in the '90s when I read a lot of DC and Marvel, David (along with the likes of Kurt Busiek and Mark Waid) was one of those writers I *noticed* and actively sought. He also wrote Star Trek and Babylon 5 books which were actually *good*.

I started Expedition 33 and Hundred Line on the same day, and Hundred Line won hard in capturing my attention and limited game time. I wasn't too impressed with most of Tookyo's output, but this is *such* an impressive return to form and the scope is mind boggling. Go play this.
i will never forgive humanity if Hundred Line becomes a commercial failure, and to be frank i will still hold a pretty severe grudge if it doesn't make enough to get other console ports and localisations
If I can pay off my debt early and secure enough operating funds for the company, I’d love to get started right away.
But right now, we’re still on the brink of going under.

Won the opportunity to purchase the expensive International Switch 2. I'm pretty sure going for that one instead of the cheap Japan-only one helped a lot.

Before I took this picture, a 5 year old girl was staring at it for like 30 seconds, absolutely enthralled.

14 years ago today I said goodbye to my parents on their way to the airport at Kyoto station, then went to the Bic Camera next door (no longer there, I believe), climbed up to the gaming floor and bought a copy of Danganronpa for the PSP, which was just released that day.

You know you’re old when a new 300 yen store (the fancier version of a 100 yen store) opening at your local train station is a very exciting event.

Spotted at the mall yesterday. Only later did it occur to me that I should’ve bought the Tetris ones and see if I can play real life Tetris with them.

I have a feeling the reason there are multiple Sora demo movies set in a Japanese city but none (as far as I can tell) in American cities is that the street signs are nonsense. This is immediately obvious because there's so much of it in city videos, but it looks just fine for western eyes.

My company, usually stringent with frivolous expenses, apparently approved a $2000 budget for the Japan team "holiday party". I'm not sure they realized we're only 7 people and the "party" is usually a special course dinner at a restaurant. This is probably going to be the best food I've ever had.

They’ve recorded an English announcement about this weekend’s Yamanote line planned disruptions and the woman they got pronounces it with “note” as in “notebook”. How does that even happen? It must’ve been recorded in Japan and had Japanese people involved!
