(Part 2) We need to recognize people's culture and understand where there's power imbalance, and be giving that power back- hence why DEI encourages diversity in thought, so it's no dominated by culture's biases and understandings. What's wrong with trying that?

It'd be great if we could leave racism, but unfortunately a lot of systems are still built on racist foundations and policies (example: police). DEI is an effort to push back on that, to do better.

Do you have sources showing that people aren't being hired on merit? No business or agency would do that- the key is that DEI is pushing for companies to expand their search (As an oversimplified example: making sure job postings are known to more people than just whites).

Where are you getting this idea, that people are being hired on those things alone? Are you pulling from a source?

No DEI program is saying to "hire based on color ONLY". That's just another fear-mongering tactic to scare you into opposing it.

Someone once called them bluets (pronounced "bloots"), which sounds funny. But I could see it get normalized with time.
