As an 18yo when Reagan won, this is where I thought he would take us. It just took a lot longer. I remember walking around campus the night of the election crying for US(A).

I think you nailed it with “consistent voting”. People vote blue then when what ever their “issue” is doesn’t get solved fast enough they jump ship, then 2-4 years of Republicans dismantling previous slow progress and we have to start again.
