I felt the same way when I read about his stance. Pretty sure it's only the second time I've agreed with him.

The problem is that most Americans don't get their media from the mainstream sources, many of which are doing a reasonable job of covering what's happening. The stories need to reach people on other channels and in a form that is acceptable to those who may be persuadable, which is not everyone.

This is what comes from someone with no understanding of science of any kind, a "simple" solution that will make the situation worse, not better. Unbelievable. We need more people with scientific expertise in our government, not less, but who is being let go and who is being let in?

It's one part of social-emotional competence that all students need not only to be better human beings and members of society, but to learn. Without these skills, kids can't participate effectively in class and engage with and lead their own learning. We need to teach these skills this explicitly!

None of the four listed here are going to help. I would like to think somewhere in the other ideas, there's something that might actually work but I doubt it as they Dem leadership seems to lack understanding of why they failed in the first place.

Plenty of other fabulous venues across the country, from smaller, independent operations to prestigious ones in larger cities, would welcome these artists.

I didn't read the article but I have said this elsewhere. To slow this down requires individuals and organizations with standing and a contract that can take things to court. This assumes a lot from the courts and enforcement agencies but seems like the only effective interim action possible.

Give this message to your fellow veterans who may be willing to listen but haven't yet about what is happening. You can't reach them on Bluesky or other mainstream channels. You have the power as an insider to communicate with them, meeting them where they are at, to help them understand the threat.

Performative messages to Musk won't help. Since Democrats lack votes to stop this in Congress, work on issues with borderline Republicans where you can. Use more effective communication strategies and messages that meet persuadable Americans where they are at so they understand what's happening.

It sent me back to Spanish 200, if that, because of mistakes during the initial quiz that I easily rectified once I practiced, but I couldn't get beyond that level. I gave it up and now use iTalk. I enjoy my conversations with a native Spanish speaker, and I am rapidly getting back to proficiency.
