It does not take too many examples for Democrats to be asked what they think about it. They need a reasonable answer or voters will rightly believe the party is stewing in a toxic, identity politics culture. "Love is love" is what you say when the goal is to lose by adhering to a foolish principle.

Democrats need a workable message, though. "Love means love" is not going to work when the topic comes up. "I stand up against discrimination of all kinds, but females who wish to compete against only other females have a legal right to do that. Politicians don't need to be involved."
