seeing a random german word in a normal-starting sentence always makes you think 'is it a political practice or a javascript library?'
we use zustand in the new streamplace shared components but it's scoped similarly to react context. i think we made the right choice moving from redux to this for component state.
Bluesky’s social-app doesn’t use any global state manager (redux/zustand/jotai/mobx etc). Why is that? 🧵

especially if the unreliable behavior makes you have to try the same thing 5 times over, or worse, it'd be a mess to undo (even if it's a simple thing like 'last read stats' getting clobbered)
