I recently read Dogs of War with a book club and loved it. Unfortunately, several people had trouble finding a copy and were unable to participate. I expect availability will continue to limit the number of people who get into this series.

I liked Caprica, but it tracks that it was initially intended to be its own show. There were BSG fans who tried it and bounced off and I'm sure there were people who didn't enjoy BSG who would have liked it, but never gave it a chance.

I wondered why PG Tips had adopted a new, much worse, tea bag. Now I know. I'm sure changing their design to a lesser version of every other brand will significantly increase their market share.

Out of all the ASOIAF POV charcaters, I think Davos would best be able to resist picking up the ring, particularly after he'd learned caution from Blackwater.

I romanced Cassandra in DAI. I'd expected I would want to romance Josephine based on the previews, but once the game started I was much more taken with Cas. Best romance I've yet experienced in a video game.

I'm not disagreeing with you about hidden gems. Iconic books need to be popular. I'm saying that among popular books you can make judgments of quality, if they are worthy of veneration. McDonalds may be recognizable, but I don't venerate its food. A very popular book might not qualify as iconic.

I think to qualify as Iconic a book certainly has to be popular, but I was understanding popularity as a floor with room for subjective judgments on anything that meets the threshold rather than a ceiling. Otherwise, you could just call it a popularity list and be done with it.
