Skyward Sword was the game I picked up when I was having a hard time with academia. It was winter break, all my housemates were gone, I bundled up in the basement and played through the entire game. I hadn't played a game since 2011. It was winter of 2017.

Page on the right is collage of back in 2017 when I lived in Tacoma Washington, was going to college and picked up Skyward Sword for the first time and played through it during winter break after a hard fall semester.

Zine- caption reads "During one of our meetings, a friend recommended Night In The Woods. A 2017 single-player adventure video game that follows a young feline anthropomorphic woman, who had recently dropped out of college and consequently returned to her hometown where she would be confronted by the changes within herself and her community. This game would be the emotional catalyst I needed at the time. I related deeply to Mae and her ragtag group of friends. Night in the Woods was the first game I purchased on Steam, but soon after my library would grow to house many compelling video game narratives that, like many of the novels we covered in book club, would offer a chance for introspection and connection with people who also enjoy a good story. Thank you for picking up my first zine. I hope you enjoy it :) " and on the second page with a final fantasy collage- the caption reads "I picked up my first Final Fantasy Game in 2019. My life has never been the same since then."
