i wonder if it’s a byproduct of this being apparently the same codebase as the apple arcade one?
like they wanted snapping due to the imprecision of touch controls and just… didn’t change it? baffling regardless

the funny thing about lost soul aside is that it's not even a ffxv knockoff, it's a versus xiii fangame! it's been in dev in some form for like 10 years now

tangential (but also topical): the idea that you can spend all this money on a slot machine and then they turn around and pack it up on a whim is absurd to me
imo it contributes to the chart-watching mentality where people aren't willing to give more niche stuff a shot because it could just go away

i played a couple years back and there is something super compelling about the pre-wow mmo structure where jobs have unique niches
but yeah the interface is absurdly bad; the client afaik batches everything in 350ms intervals alongside the server having a 2000ms buffer which makes it super sludgey
