Just being aware of the plight of orangutans is not enough. We need to care...and care enough to be moved to action!

#OrangutanCaringWeek may be over...but let’s keep the caring going all year long!
For 20 years OCW has been about raising awareness, inspiring hope & turning caring into action.
Let’s carry this spirit beyond this week. Together we can continue to protect orangutans & the rainforests.

🌏 Day 6: Because Everything Is Connected
Saving orangutans means saving the world they live in — and all who share it.

Inung, a rehabilitated orangutan, was released into the wild by BOSF in 2013 with her 2 young daughters. Since then she’s adapted remarkably well & has had 2 more offspring!
This shows that when provided with a safe space, reintroduced orangutans can survive & raise future generations in the wild! 🧡

🌿 Why We Should Care About Orangutans?
🍃 Day 3: Because They Keep the Forest Alive
Orangutans are gardeners of the forest. As they eat fruit and travel through the canopy, they spread seeds that regrow the forest. Every seed they scatter carries hope for tomorrow.

A great way to raise awareness for #OrangutanCaringWeek is by hosting a movie night! But what film could inspire people to care and take action? We recommend Green by Patrick Rouxel, a powerful, award-winning film about #orangutans, palm oil, and deforestation.
