I'll have to fire it up... Been a while, but I distinctly remember something along these lines. Possibly the matrix instrument.

I meant that the temptation to just leave all the tracks running at the same time is sometimes so great that it's difficult to be subtractive 😂

I like subtractive synthesis for the same reason...it's difficult to measure the approach sometimes though.
