I have had multiple songs and videos (over 50) purchased through Apple made unavailable. When I’m buying individual songs (I’m not a Spotify or Pandora person) I don’t have much choice, but I’ve returned to buying old school DVDs for albums because unfortunately it’s not just a theoretical issue…

A few years ago I had the same question when the WSJ was making me keep print delivery, and a semi-informed source told me the reason is that the number of print subscribers is important for advertising rates and sales. Not sure if it was or is still true, but it sounds plausible…

I had a similar problem with the Economist. Impossible to cancel just print online; I was going to cancel both too but remarkably (sarcasm) a live customer service rep was able to cancel (just) print.
