The threat is serious. He doesn’t expect to make Canada the 51st state in his lifetime, but he'll use that goal to push the border north. He’ll also deploy the US military into Mexico, undermining its sovereignty.

He's been ambiguous and talked about "one way or another" which leaves the threat of military annexation open. He knows what he's doing.

It would reduce support for the war if people felt it was ultimately unwinnable in the face of US and Russian pressure. I notice Merz didn't rule out returning to Russian gas.

I miss commuting. It represents the separation between work and home. I really struggle going from being Work David to David the husband and father in the time it takes me to descend the stairs.

Same. My job is 99% WFH and I don't like that element but I have to accept that it makes drop off and pick up and looking after the dog easier.

However I'm also aware of research which suggests I'm less likely to get pay rises and promotion as a WFH'er.

I was struck by the argument from Ed Balls that Musk is effectively editorialising on X now, like a Beaverbrook, North or Murdoch and he should be regulated as such in the UK.
