Like the article says, I think the plan is actually to finish certification of the existing line up of jets. But maybe you’re not familiar with aircraft development, but this stage is not particularly resource heavy and needs to be happen if they launch before the end of the decade…

Boeing had been doing that for about 60 years….it wasn’t something that happened like 2 years before the max issues. The ideal would be got Boeing to go back to that. The FAA cannot possibly keep up, especially as Boeing increases rates to 42 a month.

Which means they have a deal in principle. But that’s typically the case with Korean air, they get a deal in principle then announce then finalise. Some airlines finalise then announce.

Yes in this March 2025 press release but in the one that just came, no. So to answer your question, these are not options they are firm orders that will be finalised in the coming months.

So I think the word I should be using is the order is not finalised but yes it it’s a firm order as there are no options.

Because it’s an intent of a firm order. There’s also intent to option. There are no options, just firm orders. That’s the point.

It’s a firm order. Koreans orders always start as an intent and then firmed in the coming months.
