Check out The Metaphysics of Morals by Immanuel Kant and you will find religion is not necessary for a moral life. Atheism has nothing to do with morals.

Atheism is one aspect of the much broader life-stance of secularism. Atheism by itself merely states one has no theistic beliefs, it doesn’t suggest a rational basis for a life of values, integrity or any ethical system. Check out Humanism and you might change your mind about the ambiguity of rape.

Celebrate the winter solstice, the original purpose of the holiday- the solstice is on December 21 and ancients used to start a feast and celebration that lasted five days, culminating on December 25th. The Catholics expropriated our holiday.

Interesting concept: devout atheist… who knew atheism could become a religion? Perhaps “committed” atheist would be more apropos? It doesn’t imply religious beliefs as does “devout “. Just a thought .
