Depends on if you were paying attention or not to release notes. I know as a Linux engineer you read through all the release notes of every kernel and userland package you update.

Sure, you don't care. But what right has Bambu to have firmware that 'authorises' anything. Surely ownership of the item is enough. Being a so called 'linux engineer' you should already be aware of the dangers of DRM in all its forms. A 3d printer should do exactly that, and no more.
