Well, it used to be that you could use it to find cool people to follow, but uhh 🤷‍♀️

It’s really an ecosystem of mean people rewarding mean people with engagement 🙃 At least here I don’t ever fucking see them lol

My feed is pretty active too, but I think on twitter there’s just easy access to constant *new* trash content that you can scroll through forever. When I go to my Discover tab here I generally find it’s mostly just posts that have already been reposted to my feed

I used to think “waah there’s fewer memes here, waah there’s less fandom here” but I’ve come to terms with the idea that the benefits of less information input to my brain outweighs whatever *content* I’m missing out on.

Maybe BlueSky isn’t as active but I do feel like my belief in humanity’s value is restored a little bit by being on here instead. On twitter it’s so easy to feel like it’s a reflection of the whole world. It did take me forever to leave tho so I get it. You have to let go of your follower count.
