Also, later in the day a friend visited and we made a butter mochi cake together! It was a vanilla matcha swirl and I think it turned out real well! Very good start to the year food wise at least, hope I get the chance to make more stuff like this

Akemashite Omedetou! Happy new year! (Its still technically the first for me I'm not late just yet) Had a lovely Japanese new year's breakfast! Definitely one of my favorite traditions to do with my family every year!
