After the Second Civil War shattered America, the undead came to finish the job- or so it seemed. Just as hope faded, a vaccine turned the tide, giving humanity a chance to rebuild. For five years, Bob Kelley has lived alone in a buried evacuation shelter, haunted by the screams of those he couldn't save. Outside, civilization is slowly clawing its way back-but something far worse than the undead now stalks the streets. A fanatical cult known as The Ascended believes the zombie plague was a divine gift-a sacred cleansing-and they're determined to finish what war and virus could not. Armed with his father's shotgun, hard-earned militia training, and a past that won't let him go, Bob emerges from the darkness to face a new kind of enemy.
