Ok I figured it out. Because Lawes, Sturmay, and Black were all 4-3 the H2H records between them were tied and Black has the best last stone draw, but if it was just Black and Sturmay tied, Sturmay won over Black so their H2H if it was just them would favor Sturmay.

I’m thrilled to see Black go through especially in Halifax, but it really sucks for Sturmay. It’s also odd that Lawes winning over Skrlik puts Black through over Sturmay. I truly don’t understand it. 🥌
