As someone who's played both, Reload is just objectively better unless you're an original purist. For a new player the choice is obvious.

As a long-time fan who's been with the series since Gen 4, the action combat took a while to adjust to, but by the end of the game it had definitely grown on me.

I definitely don't think this combat system should implemented in the non-Legends games, but it gives Legends a distinct flavour I like.
