This partnership directly advances Outcome 3 of our newly launched strategy — Public Finance Management and Anti-Corruption agencies institutionalise the use of BO information across procurement, licensing, and tax in six countries.

Through this MoU, we are deepening efforts to help African governments strengthen the use of beneficial ownership (BO) information to curb tax evasion, improve compliance, and mobilise domestic resources.

The SEC aims to issue its revised corporate disclosure policy by January 2026, after taking into account the comments and suggestions received during the consultations.

This provided the SEC with an opportunity to gather valuable feedback and suggestions from stakeholders on what should be considered for the revised corporate disclosure policy.

... and held a technical session on the Hierarchical and Applicable Relations and Beneficial Ownership Registry (HARBOR).

The two-day event was attended by 100+ participants from government agencies, civil society, media and private practitioners.
