Today is International Epilepsy Day!
As well as sharing to bring more awareness and information, we are also celebrating our fantastic finance programme officer, Jemma Robinson, being 1 year seizure free!

What to do when someone has a tonic-clonic seizure: CARE
Helping someone who’s having a tonic-clonic seizure doesn’t have to be difficult. All you have to do is CARE. C – Comfort Cushion their head with something soft to protect them from injury A – Action Start to time the seizure, and clear the area of anything that might be harmful. You could also check if the person has a medical ID or bracelet with more information on how to help R – Reassure After the seizure stops, put the person in the recovery position and reassure them E – Emergency Call 999 if the person: - is not regaining consciousness - goes straight into another seizure - has trouble breathing after the seizure stops - has never had a seizure before Find more resources to help you learn seizure first aid at www.epilepsy.org.uk/care Epilepsy Action has a range of resources covering seizure first aid, how to help someone having other types of epileptic seizures, and how to support people with epilepsy more generally at www.epilepsy.org.uk.
