I’m so sorry.

I see you. I see what’s happening. I promise I am trying to do what I can. I have a daughter to raise, a family to provide for. But I see you. I see what’s happening is happening and I’m not looking away. It’s wrong. It’s wrong. It’s wrong. It’s evil. Its evil. It’s evil.

I’m so sorry this is happening. I’m so sorry families are being destroyed while mine is safe. I’m so sorry people are being profiled for the color of their skin. I’m so sorry. This isn’t right. This shouldn’t be happening. You don’t deserve this pain.

I know being a white women causes a lot of fear for people of color and I am so sorry. White women really fucked things up. You shouldn’t trust me as I am not always aware of my own blind spots. And I’m so sorry.

And then I’m told “you’re so emotional.” Or “please stop, it makes me upset”. I’m so god damn disappointed in my loved ones. They either deny or ignore. I can’t stand it. We should be using our WHITE BODIES and protecting our neighbors.

I was asked “Are you okay? I just want everyone to be happy” and that kills me. Because I know what that means. My friends can’t bare look at the pain of others. My friends have the privilege to look away. I have that privilege too. So I’m screaming by myself, saying “LOOK”
