"Unfortunately"?

For me, at least, I feel like my time management skills improved and I simply have more time that way.

Ten years ago I'd spend most of my free time messing about in video games, now I'm either enjoying time with my partner or working on one project or another.

It makes the time spent feel longer.

You know what they say, the best time to plant a tree is forty years ago near Sand Hill Road in Silicon Valley.

Fuck yeah, well done!

Yeah, I'm not saying Israel isn't sourcing stuff from international supply chains, and I really wish folks didn't supply their arms industry so they at least had the economic burden of having to do it all themselves.

Don't get it twisted, I'm not saying Biden is a good dude and morally clean here.

Well, I suppose that's one way to end the discussion.

I get you're mad, and you're right to be really really upset about how Biden backed Bibi. They're both monsters.

But we can't pretend precision munitions and tank shells are the difference between genocide and no genocide.

Do you think Wikipedia isn't a reasonable aggregator of knowledge? I'm not using it as a first source, I'm using it as a summary. We can quibble over details if you REALLY want.

Either way, Israel has a functioning military industrial complex. They're a developed nation. Obviously.
February 6, 2025 at 5:48 AM
Why the fuck would you believe the words of an army *actively engaging in genocide*, Erin?

Israel are capable of building their own weapon systems. In fact, they actively do: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...

Again, Israel isn't five guys in a tent in a desert. It's a developed nation.

"Think of how easily Joe Biden could have resolved this...and chose not to."

That's what you said, dude. A resolution means an end to the genocide.

The US having clean hands while Israel murders Palestinians wholesale isn't a resolution. To view it as such is to make a genocide about *you*. Gross.

Vook

You might not be aware of this but

Israel is a developed nation with a military industrial complex all of their own.

They're not five dudes in a tent in the middle of the desert for crying out loud.

Their 2023 GDP per capita was 52k USD.

They manufacture bombs, Vook.

Then why is it what? I'm not in favour of arming Israel or funding them.

But acting like this would have happened without the United States throwing money at Israel denies Israel agency. It unironically paternalises a state committing genocide. Bibi isn't a baby, he's a war criminal.
February 5, 2025 at 12:04 PM
It would indeed have been better for the US to not fund Israel and give them arms.

But I'm not gonna sit here and pretend that would have prevented a genocide.
February 5, 2025 at 12:01 PM
What makes you think Israel needed US funding to perform their genocide, exactly?

A genocide is still a genocide, regardless of how involved the US is or isn't.
February 5, 2025 at 5:19 AM
Aaaaaaaah yeah that's fucked

Might be permanent then

You kinda gotta just work through it. It's a form of grief, you're mourning what you believe could have been.

Crying into a pint of icecream might be a bit of a boomer meme, but comfort food and such certainly has a place in this process.

And she had the foresight to make sure she filmed it, to boot. Our strongest soldier, our savviest strategist.
