But I got just as much if not more enjoyment out of the 120 hours + I put into cyberpunk. And if you had shown my teenage me that game it would have blown my mind, and certainly wouldn't have been playing on my 16 bit if I could play cyberpunk instead.

I still love gaming even now in my 50's. I can't stand the opinion of retro games we're better because that's simply not the case, we were just younger. I love games from all earas. My favourite type of games from back then were dungeon master types.

The thing is those games from the early days were limited by the hardware so that was all they could achieve so we had no choice but to fill in the blanks, it wasn't a creative decision. As hardware has become more powerful the scope and fidelity of the games has increased.
