I couldn't agree more. They don't take it seriously and operate by volume. I take the opposite approach and have been fortunate to have employers that do the same. Thank you for the encouragement and I wish you well.

I'm still practicing and taking cases. I don't intend to stop unless I have to. As it is, I have a huge caseload. I keep going for them. I totally understand winding down or switching practice areas, it's hard on many levels. I've thought about what it would be like to do something else myself.

If SSA is gone, so is my 11 year career representing the disabled. But, I can take another Bar, or do some other type of work. I can sell my house if I have to. My clients can't, and that worries me. I love what I do, and I'm angry for the hard working SSA employees that don't deserve this either.

Everyone I've interacted with has been super nice and I'd give any of you a free pass to be grumpy right now. Thank you. 💙

Thank you for the information. I represent people seeking SSI/SSDI and it's stressful not having any idea what might happen next. I worry for my clients who are asking questions that I can't answer. I appreciate the work all of you do and I've been trying to tell SSA employees that when I see them.

The overwhelming consensus from both organizations is that fraud is less than 1%, with one commissioner asserting that it was less than one tenth of one percent. Far more serious is that there are thousands of people dying waiting for benefits that they will never get.

Social Security and OIG are constantly conducting investigations to reduce and eliminate fraud. They conduct investigations of judges and claimants all over the country.
