Yupp i get that, with the latter ive had cases where ive felt cringe™ for losing my shit over smthing ive recommended while re-watching it as a group and trying to act normal as the other person is just barely enjoying it😭😭

Im critical often but definitely publically tone it down due to fear of hurting friends feelings i dont know well. I hope u can embrace the hater spirit bcz its not our responsibility to love every piece of media the same way😭 and u not liking something shouldnt take away from others enjoyment

Rightt but i feel like enjoying something and thinking its a good piece of media should always be clarified as different things, its very human to overlook details and aspects that would make something "bad" because u can enjoy the other parts (with some exceptions)

Ive had this for the longest time too.. recently realised that bcz i dont like the stuff that other people recommend me and dont expect to, im also allowed to have "shit taste" in their eyes. But even knowing that now i still just rec media to people i predict will like it too😔
