On the inside. Allegedly pledge floor gloss from an airbrush makes a good sealant and doesn't cause the chrome finish to haze.

This mirrored MSA outsert has been my favorite way to become an anonymous drone. Ironically, the reflection makes everything else really hard to anonymize😆
The low-tech approach to this was a rattle can of ALC-114 chrome paint + clear coat. It's hazy, but you can see out.
