The main thing with car in a city is they take so much space. Bike lane use parking ? So what! What is the real value of few cars doing nothing on a street ? Not much. Anyway, people with car will prefer anyway to go to car friendly place so why not make city human friendly instead.

Well the thing is they want a tramway to do LRT things. But in reality, they each have their niche and advantages. Tramway is ideally for shorter trip and LRT for longer regional trip.

There are plenty of great case for a tramway in Montreal but the tramway de l'est isn't one.

You start to forgive after the other party stopped doing what you are supposed to forgive them

Trains are great once you are in it. Those lines need way much frequency. We should aim to at bare minimum have one more train departure per day each direction until it cover all day every 15 min

Well the Canadian way of politics would probably mean Canada vote for a 3rd party and hold the balance of power.

Interesting that Navi48 is smaller than GB203 while having more transistors for around the same performance
February 28, 2025 at 11:49 PM
But AMD achieve the same performance with GDDR6 and less bandwidth. The transistor count difference is probably more cache on AMD side

This is one of the reason why we are seeing so many proprietary solutions theses days. Might as well get back to the 3DFX/Glide era if that continues

@hardwareunboxed.bsky.social use custom scene for benchmarking. They generally try to find an area of the game that is heavy to run to ensure they get the most accurate results. You can't compare directly with other benchmarks. This way you get the worst scenario for your GPU.

I think it's best to stop saying tariff and start saying import taxes as this would have more weight I'm the mind of the masses. And it's what it is. Taxes on imported goods.

I still have the "it's me, Hi, I'm the problem it's me" gif song in my head and I cannot blame you enough for this. 😂

Yeah but with the size related to the flagship, the 5080 is in reality the 4070. 16 GB for a mid range GPU seems fine today.

But they don't price and market it like that indeed...

I actually making the opposite claim. Tampa, Florida and Vegas all underestimated the Habs and lost because they thought they would have an easy game. Chicago didn't

Radeon Rx 480 had 8 GB of VRAM, was a mid-range GPU and got released in 2016. That is 8 year ago. Modern rendering technique without better looking texture are just putting red lipstick on a pig
December 9, 2024 at 11:16 PM
People want game that look better and better while still running on old hardware. There are plenty of independent games that don't use over the top graphic. Just go play those games. Anyway the real issue with modern game isn't newer rendering technique. It's VRAM stagnation.

Comme le premier devoir d'un gestionnaire est la gestion d'actifs, la première question est: est ce que je peux l'avoir pour un coût représentant sa valeue. J'en doute vu qu'il est un haut choix de 1ere ronde.

I haven't got the chance to watch the last 45 benchmarks. Might do it this weekend but it look like Dragon age the veilguard would be a great cpu benchmark with RT on
