I highly recommend the Boy Scout Trail for backpacking. Just be sure to grab a permit on Recreation.gov. For day hikes, I usually use AllTrails to find hiking trails—they have hundreds of options.

Thanks. I haven’t done the JMT yet, only little section of it, but I’d love to do the full trail someday! I’m also considering the PCT in a couple of years. Have you done either one yet?
