I’ve just gotten off a flight at JFK, where our smallish plane was directed to the terminal through a maze of runways with very large planes taking off around us. I don’t think I’ve ever appreciated the training, stress and required work of air traffic controllers more in my life.

The urge to reach out the window and snap these icicles off is sooo strong. Unfortunately I’m an adult and as an adult I know that could damage the eavestrough. Damn it.

A huge thank you to all the drivers in Ottawa who are driving like decent human beings on these greasy, snowy roads! I’m so proud of us for maintaining safe distances, driving at appropriate speeds, using our headlights AND turning signals, and being patient!

It is freezing outside but finding this dress for $20 at YGK Thrift has me thinking of warmer days ahead! It has sparkles! No pockets, but it was $20. Is it enough to beat back the bright and sunny -10 before the windchill? No, but I have my trusty longjohns for that.

Things are looking a little bleak today. A reminder, the benefits of letting out a primal scream cannot be overstated. Perhaps not at 6am unless you’re doing it into a pillow (said the neighbours).
