Ngā mihi to Ihaia Puketapu, Jesse Pirini, Carwyn Jones, Tina Mihaere, and Chloe Bryan for coming in to kōrero about learning about their Māoritanga later in life, inspirational Māori, debunking some myths about University life, becoming a strong Māori leader and working through adversity.

The motivation behind it is that when humans inspect industrial pipes they can be exposed to lethal chemicals or gases. So using a robot can be a safer option, and it can also ensure the proper maintenance of industrial pipes.

A Year 10 student from Onslow College, was judged first in Class 4 with a project called “Pipe Patrol - The robotic saviour below”. He developed an operational pipe inspection robot, with a variety of smart and advanced features.

The Mansfield Short Story competition is open to Year 12 and 13 students in the Wellington region to enter creative or personal writing. This year they had a record number of entries. Congratulations Ingshwan!
