shamelessly stealing this from another friend of mine

12) Patriot's Day (2016)
Of the two Mark Wahlberg led disaster movies released in 2016, this probably was the lesser of them? It wasn't bad, and honestly...it's nice having a clear cut story where I don't feel bad rooting for the police? Idk it'd be nice if they were like that all the time

11) Deepwater Horizon (2016)
It's amazing how tense a movie can be, despite knowing what is going to happen, and in my case, exactly how it happens. Mark Wahlberg being his usual self doesn't even bring it down that much. There were multiple scenes that had me flinching away from the screen

10) Cardfight!! Vanguard (2011-2012)
As a long time yugioh fan, it was pretty neat seeing how another card game anime worked. The only problem I have with it is the general problem that a bunch of kids anime has where it has a few running jokes that are not funny but they keep repeating anyways

9) Now You See Me (2013)
Hey so I've been forgetting to update this for several weeks, so here we go. Fun heist movie, even if sometimes the stage magic aspect is very, very stretched at points. Like yeah sometimes it's straight up actual magic

8) X-Men Season 1 (1992-1993)
This is the sort of shit I wish was on tv nowadays. There's been a serious dearth of action cartoons aimed at kids recently, and that's a goddamn shame. Gripes about the state of television aside, amazing show that does a pretty good job of adapting the comics' vibe

7) Bang Brave Bang Bravern (2024)
This is the gayest Super Robot anime I have ever watched, in the most literal sense. If you like giant robots and/or yaoi, this is the show for you. Oh also it did a complete bait and switch from the first episode so that's funny too

6) Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV (2024)
Fuck, man. This definitely isn't a light watch by any means. What messes me up the most is that the stuff about Dan Schneider that most people know isn't even the biggest part of this show? Like there were two separate pedophiles that were on his sets

5) Scanners (1981)
So most people probably know scanners from that scene where a guy's head explodes, but honestly beyond that it's still just a good thriller. I can very much see how this was the movie that really brought cronenberg into the big leagues, as it were. And like...also, exploding head

4) The X From Outer Space (1967)
Hoo boy, this is an old one, huh? Anyways, pretty standard kaiju movie of the time, but it's still pretty fun. Also Guilala is an absolute goober so that's a plus

3) Doors: Paradox (2021)
Babies first magical puzzle box game. Nothing much else to say about it, probably wouldn't have played it if it wasn't free on EGS

2) Leviathan (1989)
This movie could not be cribbing harder from Alien and The Thing if it tried. Despite it's unoriginality, the level of practical effects on display are more than enough to justify its existance.

1) Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham
I can't speak for how good of an adaptation this is, but just on it's own merits, it's a fun lovecraft flavored batman story.
