The main character does basically work directly for the Increate though so there’s a little less ambiguity there

At first I thought the book was going to be a rejection of BOTNS as the main character is slated to become a torturer, and rejects that life. As I got deeper in though too many ideas/themes hewed too close to BOTNS to really be something different.

Is this a PKD book title?
